An Ambitious Project for the Conservation of the Ammeln Oasis<\/strong><\/p>\n

This project focuses on protecting the ecosystem of the Ammeln oasis, a biodiversity hotspot located in southern Morocco. Its goal is to safeguard and enhance the natural resources of the Ammeln oasis while addressing growing threats such as resource overexploitation, climate change, and the lack of sustainable management.<\/p>\n

In response to these challenges, the Civil Alliance for the Environment of Ammeln (ACEA) has taken strategic actions, including training 20 farmers in sustainable techniques, establishing local wildlife monitoring mechanisms, and acquiring innovative equipment such as biochar production units. To ensure the success of this ambitious project, the Association relies on active collaboration with local stakeholders.<\/p>\n

Regular multi-stakeholder meetings are organized to directly involve local communities in decisions regarding natural resource management. Additionally, over 1,000 residents will be educated about sustainable practices, fostering a shared understanding of the importance of protecting ecosystems. Beyond biodiversity conservation, this project will also contribute to the socio-economic development of the region through the establishment of an ecotourism circuit.<\/p>\n

ACEA aims to promote the oasis as an environmentally friendly destination, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in this unique environment. These initiatives will also create job opportunities for local youth, farmers, and women.<\/p>\n

This project is part of the third phase of the Small Initiatives Program for Civil Society Organizations in North Africa (PPI OSCAN), aligning with national priorities for conservation and sustainable development. The database created on regional biodiversity will be utilized by researchers and agents from the National Agency for Water and Forests, partners in the program.<\/p>\n
