On December 14-15, 2024, the city of Rabat, Morocco, hosted a key training session as part of the Mubadarat strategy of the IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation (IUCN-Med). This program brought together 23 participants from civil society organizations (CSOs) engaged in environmental conservation and sustainable development. The aim of the training, titled “Building a Funding Strategy for an Environmental Association,” was to enhance the capacity of CSOs to develop funding strategies tailored to their specific needs.<\/p>\n
The training, led by Mrs. Khalila Hassouna, enabled participants to acquire practical skills for fundraising and establishing strategic partnerships. This session aimed to address the specific needs of CSOs, focusing on the prerequisites for raising funds, identifying relevant donors, and writing strong proposals.<\/p>\n
Participants had the opportunity to work on practical cases, analyze calls for projects, and develop solicitation plans to maximize their chances of obtaining funding. Furthermore, special emphasis was placed on writing clear, concise, and complete proposals to increase the success rate of funding applications.<\/p>\n

The training was organized over two intensive days, with interactive sessions covering the key elements of funding strategy. Below is an overview of the main sessions:<\/p>\n
Day 1:<\/strong><\/p>\n Day 2:<\/strong><\/p>\n The training allowed participants to leave with a better understanding of the strategies to adopt in order to sustain their actions and improve their success rate in funding applications. The involvement of Moroccan CSOs in this training reflects their commitment to a sustainable future and their desire to strengthen their financial autonomy.<\/p>\n The results of this training will be measured in the coming months, as participants implement the strategies they have learned and have the opportunity to submit their funding applications to new donors. This practical and collaborative approach, focused on the specific needs of CSOs, perfectly aligns with the regional commitment of the Mubadarat program.<\/p>\n\n
