Developing environmentally friendly ecotourism in Khenifra National Parc
The association aims to preserve endangered species while promoting ecotourism and water sports as sustainable solutions. Their PPI OSCAN project includes awareness campaigns, training young locals in kayaking and rafting, and publishing educational guides.
Key Activities
- Awareness: Workshops and campaigns will be organized to educate the local population about the importance of biodiversity.
- Environmental Education: Distribution of brochures on the Barbary macaque and brown trout.
- Promotion of Water Sports: Equipping the kayaking club and organizing training sessions to encourage kayaking and rafting.
- Training: Training sessions for fishermen, naturalist guides, and schoolchildren.
The project aims to increase the number of ecological and sports tourists visiting the park while improving the reproduction of the brown trout by creating spawning grounds.
Active participation of the local community, including women and youth, is a central pillar of the project. Specific workshops and training sessions will raise awareness and integrate residents into conservation and sustainable development efforts.
