Conserving wild birds and their habitats in Morocco, improving nesting conditions by installing a raft and building nests with the local population.

Having identified the conservation threats to avian biodiversity and habitats in the Bou Areg lagoon, the GREPOM/BirdLife Morocco research group’s project aims to improve bird nesting conditions. Mission accomplished thanks to the construction of 25 nests for pink flamingos and the installation of a floating raft for other species that visit the site. Training two young eco-guides and placing information boards along the walking trails will also make it possible to reduce the impacts of visitors.
